Iced-tea-skin-care-benefitsDepending on where you live, the Spring heat is coming or has already came. Instead of cooling down with an iced coffee, consider a nice iced tea! Your skin will love you for it. Iced tea is becoming the “it” drink for skin care, health, and beauty benefits. Here are four reasons why:

1. Downing an ice tea can help reduce puffy and dark circles underneath your eyes. Why? The type of caffeine in Earl Grey and black teas help shrink blood vessels under the skin and help wipe away darkness from your eye bags.

2. Black tea helps preserve your tan. This is one beauty secret for sunbathers. It works as a natural stain on your skin. Make your tan last a bit longer by rubbing your body with a towel or sponge soaked in black tea. Better yet if you can, soak your entire body in a bathtub filled with black tea. By the way Lipton Tea Bags are standard black tea bags.

3. Soak cool green tea in soft cotton pads and gently pat the cooling pad onto skin. This draws out impurities, minimizes pores, and revitalizes your skin to its natural glow. Polyphenols which are rich in green tea have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Iced green tea is delicious as well as beneficial to your complexion.

4. Drinking green tea helps burn fat. Researchers have found that green tea contains substances called “catechins” which may trigger weight loss by stimulating the body’s ability to burn calories and therefore decreasing body fat.

Of course, drink iced tea in moderation. Too much caffeine does more harm than good to your body and skin.
