Having reviewed the SKINMEDICA Vitamin C+E Complex last year with not-so-flying colors, we decided to give the scientific-based brand another try with their Skin Polisher.

SkinMedica-Skin-Polisher-skincare-facial-cleanser-scrub-gentle-exfoliaterThe SkinMedica Skin Polisher offers both facial cleansing and exfoliation into one hybrid cleanser + scrub product. It claims to not over strip moisture or over-exfoliate skin’s surface. Note here that it is recommended for all skin types except sensitive skin. The key behind this product is their special use of 3 ingredients: jojoba bead spheres – a non-granular exfoliant offering more gentle skin exfoliation, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) – helps bind moisture to skin surface layers, and Bisabolol – a soothing ingredient derived from chamomile. It is fragrance free.

Our experiences with the Skin Polisher for two weeks give us the power to rate this a two thumbs up! The product does exactly what its name is … it really smoothes and polishes your complexion. It is more expensive than other facial scrub products (priced at $40 for 56.7 g / 2 oz) but definitely worth keeping in your skincare arsenal. Our faces looked healthier and more vibrant after use without any over-drying or redness associated with over-scrubbing. In regards to its cleansing power, even our male staff’s greasiest skin complexions were cured from oil and dirt. We found the exfoliant to be very mild in texture so some of our staff enjoyed using it daily. The ingredient list isn’t jaw-dropping, but the overall formulation works! However to keep skin at its best, we recommend alternating the Skin Polisher with the top-rated hybrid TwinLuxe Renewing Face Wash & Scrub for optimal facial cleansing and skin smoothness.

SkinMedica has a homerun on their hands with their Skin Polisher facial cleanser and scrub. It’s gentle and moisturizing on your skin that anyone would want to use it first thing when they get to their bathroom sink in the morning.
