Review of OLE HENRIKSEN Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster

Denmark-born OLE HENRIKSEN is considered one of Hollywood’s hottest facialists. His luxury skin care line promotes his philosophy that it’s all about fixing the outside of you. Here we will review one of his more popular products, the Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster.

Ole-Henriksen-Truth-Serum-Collagen-Booster-Vitamin-C-skincareThe story behind this anti-aging serum lies in its proprietary ‘5C’ complex (a five-source vitamin C complex comprised of orange extract, grapefruit extract, rose hip seed extract, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, & ester-c) formulated to repair, protect, and nourish skin. Full of antioxidants the manufacturer calls this product a daily vitamin for your face. Well does it work as good as it claims?

We found the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum to be very gentle on the skin. It absorbs quickly and spreads on easily like other high-performance skin care. Two thumbs up to the pump dispenser as it releases product accurately and effortlessly. This serum is water based so it does not feel heavy or oily in any way. We did not find the vitamin C booster to do much in the long term except provide instant hydration and skin plumpness for a few hours. We recommend that people with normal to dry skin tones follow this product with use of another face moisturizer as it provided adequate hydration for our oily skin staff but not enough for others, even though it is for all skin types. You would think that a vitamin C serum would smell naturally of citrus however this product contains a fragrance to help give it a strong sweet orange scent. Some of our staff didn’t mind it and others however found it to smell too “citrusy” fake.

Priced at $72 for 1.7 oz / or $48 for 1 oz, we didn’t see enough results to warrant us paying those prices for the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster. The intense orange coloring (due to use of a color dye) and fake citrus smell turned us off since it’s supposed to be a natural vitamin C skincare solution. The anti-aging claims on this product are probably full of smoke but one thing for sure is that it does boost the skin with some very nice vitamin C complexes.
