Review of KORRES Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream

Posted on March 18, 2013

KORRES skin care for women was launched in 1996 with a goal to produce safe, clinically effective, and afforable natural skincare products. Their best-selling flagship product that started it all was the KORRES Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturising & Brightening Cream. We had the opportunity to try this face creme for oily to combination skin and here is our product review of it:

KORRES_Wild-Rose-24-Hour-Moisturizing-Brightening-Face-Cream-Women's-Skin-Care-productFirst of all, let’s talk about Wild Rose and what it packs. The Wild Rose fruit is rich in Vitamin C which is effective in repairing action on fine lines and pigmentation disorders. And its oil, concentrated with linoleic and linolenic acids, provides intense moisturization, healing, and softening properties while forming a protective film on the skin that helps cell regeneration and epidermis texture improvement. According to the manufacturer, this product contains 96.8% natural ingredients as it is not made with Silicones, Parabens, Synthetic Dyes, Mineral Oil, or Petrolatum/Paraffin Wax. Bottom line, the ingredient list is impressive!

The Wild Rose “24-Hour” Moisturizing & Brightening Cream’s core focus is to provide around the clock consistent moisturization. However the face cream did not deliver as its name suggests. It certainly did not hydrate our skin night and day, nor even for hours. We also did not experience the promises of any skin brightening or illumination post-use after two weeks. One serious bad side effect of this product is that it caused acne breakouts maybe because of its heaviness feeling. And the fragrance added in this product did not smell anything close to a nice sweet Valentines red rose bouquet but that of synthetic overpowering smelling cosmetics found at Walmart.

On the positive side, we did like the Wild Rose face cream’s lotion-like consistency which absorbed fast into the skin. Its smooth application also worked well under foundation to absorb oiliness and reduce shine resulting in a matte finish.

In conclusion, the hype of wild rose fruit oils and vitamins fell short of its expectations. We were disappointed with the KORRES Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream’s product performance and efficacy. Priced at only $35 for 1.4 oz, it wasn’t that much of a waste of money.
